We have created an extensive wine list with the intention that food and wine should not only compliment each other, but inspire one another.
The Wharf’s wine list comprises over 220 selections, offering something for every taste. To select the perfect wine to compliment your meal, our Sommelier and Management Staff are there to assist you.
Winner of the Wine Spectator Award 2004-2010
The Wine Spectator Award is a prestigious award given annually to restaurants that have interesting selections of wines, complementing their cuisine and appealing to the palates of wine-lovers.
To qualify for a Wine Spectator’s Award, restaurants should submit their wine lists. The wine list must include
- Accurate wine information
- Vintages and appellations for all selections (including wines available by the glass)
- Complete names (with correct spellings) of producers
- Commendable overall presentation and appearance
The Wine Spectator’s Award has three categories namely:
- Award of Excellence – This is the basic award given to restaurants whose wine list has well-chosen selection of quality producers. The wines should also match the selections on their menu not only in style but also in price. The Award of Excellence is handed out to restaurants with at least 100 selections in their wine list.
- Best of Award of Excellence – This second category of Wine Spectator’s Award is given to restaurants that have clearly exceeded the requirements of the basic award. This is handed out to restaurants that offer more than 400 selections in their wine lists. The wine lists must also include superior presentation and offer wines of vintage depth and from several renowned wine regions.
- Grand Award – The Grand Award is the highest award given by Wine Spectator. This recognizes restaurants that undoubtedly have passion and dedication to the quality of wines based on the selections in their wine lists. The Grand Award is given out to restaurants with more than 1,500 selections in their wine lists. The wine list should consist of top producers, mature vintages and a selection of large-format bottles. In addition, the wine list should complement the selections in the menu and should exhibit excellent organization, presentation, and wine service.
